Installation

What should I expect on the day of installation?

If you have selected an Andersen installation service, our goal is to make the day as seamless and straightforward as possible.

If you have selected an Andersen installation service, our goal is to make the day as seamless and straightforward as possible.

1. Timing & Communication

You will be allocated either a morning or an afternoon installation slot for your scheduled date. To keep you fully informed, your assigned Andersen electrician will contact you via phone or text message:

  • The Night Before: Your electrician will reach out the evening prior to your installation to introduce themselves and confirm their estimated time of arrival (ETA) if you have a morning appointment.
  • On the Day (Afternoon Slots): If you have an afternoon appointment, the electrician will give you a phone call when they are approximately 1 hour away from your property.

2. Duration & Power Interruptions

A standard installation typically takes around 4 hours, though this can vary slightly depending on your property's layout.

Working from Home? Please be aware that the electrician will need to safely isolate your electrical supply, meaning your property's power will be completely turned off a couple of times during the installation. If you work from home or rely on a continuous internet connection, we highly recommend making alternative arrangements (such as using a mobile hotspot) for those periods.

3. Preparing Your Property

Before your installer arrives, please ensure that access is completely clear to the following key locations:

  • The intended charger location.
  • Your external meter box and incoming electricity supply.
  • Your main consumer unit/fuse board.
  • The planned cable route running between the supply and the charger.

4. Testing & Handover

Once the physical installation is complete, the installer will finalise the setup by:

  • Conducting safety and operational tests on the charger (including testing live charging on your vehicle or their own Andersen electric vehicle).
  • Connecting your new charger to your home Wi-Fi network wherever possible.
  • Guiding you through the setup and features of the Andersen EV app so you are ready to charge straight away.
