You can easily adjust the balance between solar energy and grid power directly inside the Andersen app.
Step 1: Find your power settings
- Open your app and navigate to the control panel: Settings > Select Charge Point > Power Source.
Step 2: Set your balance with "Supplement with Grid Power"
The balance is controlled by a single toggle called Supplement with Grid Power.
- To charge using solar energy only: Turn this toggle OFF. Your charger will only charge when excess solar energy is available. If a cloud passes, the charge session pauses.
- To guarantee a steady charge speed during solar charging: Turn this toggle ON and choose a charge rate.
- If solar generation drops, the charger instantly pulls just enough grid electricity to make up the difference and maintain your speed.
Important: Are you using an Andersen Schedule?
- It is vital to know that if you have an Andersen Schedule enabled, turning Supplement with Grid Power off means your car will not charge overnight (as there is no solar available in the dark).
- If you want to fast-charge at night but stick to pure solar during the day, you'll want to use an Andersen Schedule alongside the Charge Outside Schedules feature to automate the switchover.
